Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run® is an organization designed to enhance participants' social, emotional and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. The fun, interactive lessons meet the unique needs of participants of all abilities and backgrounds. At Woodburn, we have over 70 girls that sign up to participate each year! Together, they experience a sense of belonging and connection as a team. Our coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy. At the end of the season, our team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion!
Girls on the Run will begin on March 11 and will conclude on May 18 at the celebratory 5K race. If you are interested in being a buddy runner for one of our participating girls, please reach out to one of our coaches for more information.
